DaponIt is an amateur theatre group located in the Odalguri district of Assam, in the BTAD area of north-eastern India, bordering Bhutan. AaranjanIt is a Delhi-based theatre group, formed in 2001 by Kirti Jain, who has been actively engaged in theatre, producing plays at the National School of Drama, Bhartendu Natya Akadami, Lucknow, Darlington College of Arts, UK, and with other local theatre groups. Its debut play Aur Kitne Tukde (written by B Gauri based on The Other Side of Silence by Urvashi Butali) premièred at NSD’s National Theatre Festival where it received an extremely appreciative response from both critics and the public for its topicality, imaginative production and excellent performances. The play has subsequently travelled to Mussoorie, Chandigarh, Mumbai and Kolkata and Lahore; and has also featured at the annual Sahitya Kala Parishad Festival. The most recent performance of the play was at the Rang Swarn, the Festival held to mark the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. The Prospective Repertory Theatre Manipur (PRTM)   It was established in 1997 by Toijam Shila Devi alng with other theatre enthusiasts. KhilonaEstablished in 1987 by three NSD alumni (the Late Subhash Udgata, Amita Udgata and V K Sharma) and a few young artistes, Khilona aims at creating a new movement for professional theatre for children in India. It has collaborated with NSD in 1989, to set up the SanskarRang Toli, a group of adults performing for children, leading to the emergence of at least 10-12 groups who have taken up the cause for promoting professional theatre for children by adults.
